SF₆ Gas-Insulated Lines
At 420 kV, SF₆ today – Ready for g³ gas tomorrow
Ready for future SF₆ gas regulations
Anticipating future SF₆ regulations, from 2022 onwards, GE’s versatile 420-kV SF₆-GIL are fully g³-gas compatible. This dual gas equipment allows TSOs to easily switch from SF₆ to GE’s SF₆-free g³ solution in the future.
Main Characteristics
Environment friendliness
- SF₆ mass reduced by more than 15% compared to previous version
- To go further, SF₆-free option with g³ gas allows 99 % CO2e reduction
- At 420 kV, new SF₆-GIL launched in 2022 are g³-gas compatible
- First-in-class gas sealing system
- Improved tightness thanks to sealing length divided by 2 compared to previous version
Reliable experience
- Design grounded with 50 years of experience
- Superior know-how based on more than 200 km of GIL installed worldwide
Smart grid features
- Full-digital monitoring (BWatch and PDWatch monitoring devices)
