GE Vernova has signed a framework agreement with TenneT, Germany's leading high-voltage grid operator, to supply transformers and shunt reactors for vital substation projects in Germany. This landmark agreement is the largest of its kind for GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions business in Germany and underlines the company's commitment to the energy transition. The equipment will be manufactured at GE Vernova's cutting-edge Grid Solutions plant in Mönchengladbach, Germany.

At the heart of this agreement lies TenneT’s commitment to addressing both the need for new substations to transmit renewable energy within Germany and the replacement of its aging transformer fleet installed in the 1970s, a crucial step in modernizing grid infrastructure. This collaboration aims to seamlessly integrate renewable energy into the transmission grid, furthering the nation's energy transition goals.

Eric Chaussin, Leader of GE Vernova’s Grid Solution’s Power Transmission business, expressed the significance of this milestone, stating, "We are honored to partner with TenneT on their visionary decision to modernize and upgrade Germany’s grid infrastructure. By modernizing and enhancing the grid, we not only bolster energy security but also facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources, propelling the countries closer to their sustainable and carbon-neutral future.
