Valid firmware is dependent on the product model order code as stated in Product Bulletin PB25002-A. 

Models with order codes containing “NN” in character positions 17 and 18 must use 1.x.xx firmware.  This includes:
NXTNET9LxxxxxxxxNNxxx / 
NXTNET9SxxxxxxxxNNxxx.

 All other models must use firmware version 2.2.4 or higher.
